What is a Torah Dedication?
The Torah states: “Write for you this song” (Deuteronomy 31:19), indicating the requirement for each Jew to write a Torah scroll, or participate in the writing of one. Every letter in the Torah represents a Jewish soul, and a completed scroll signifies complete Jewish unity. Our Senior Rabbi and Cantor, Berele Zaltzman, has commissioned a scribe, in honor of his 80th birthday, to write a new Torah scroll for our community that will be used in our synagogue.
The Torah is now almost complete, all it needs is you! Join us in this rare opportunity to participate in writing this new Torah scroll.
