Hebrew School January 29, 2017

Classes are advancing in Hebrew reading, learning Hebrew poems, games, and crafts. Some of the topics covered this week were blessings on the different foods, the story of Jacob and Esav, and getting ready for Tu B'Shevat, "the New Year for Trees," drawing lessons we can learn from the nature G-d had given us.

Hebrew School January 15, 2017

Hebrew school children continue to advance in their Hebrew reading and learning new words in the Hebrew language. Lessons this week included "planting" for Tu Bshvat- the New Year for trees, blessings on the different foods, the significance of Tzizit and how they are made, Jewish leaders in our history, and the objects in a synagogue and what they are used for. Children also received Jewish General Knowledge books to study, get tested, and win prizes!

Hebrew School January 8, 2017

It's freezing outside,  but at Hebrew school it's warm and joyful with the sounds of the children learning, praying, and experiencing our Jewish traditions. Children are reading and practicing Hebrew language words, adding new prayers to their morning routine, and studying about important mitzvot, like "honoring our parents," the sanctity of a synagogue, about our Holy Land of Israel, and more.
