Hebrew School Boys Trip
The 5 and 6 grade boys class at Cett Hebrew School went on a trip this past Sunday to a Sofer, a Jewish scribe. They watched how the Tefillin boxes are made, and how the scrolls are written. The boys handled the parchment, quill, unprocessed Tefillin boxes and other raw materials used.
After that they were treated to ice cream and dairy delights at a nearby Kosher ice cream shop.

Hebrew School children immersed in Jewish learning! Hebrew reading,Tu B'shvat activities which included the 7 kinds of Israel, creating a mitzvah tree with good deeds we can do, using Israel's environmental advances to brainstorm our own inventions, edible trees, and comparisons between the tree and people.
JTeen Shabbat 100
On Friday, Jan 25, in an amazing display of Jewish pride, 100 local Jewish teens joined at Bris Avrohom of Fair lawn for Jteen Shabbat100. The teens celebrated together, with candle lighting, followed by singing Shalom Aleichem, Kiddush and Shabbat dinner. Fair Lawn's Jewish Mayor, Kurt Peluso joined and shared his remarks about the power of our youth, and the important impact of the Jteen club in our community. Jteens meet once a week and also have monthly events, it Unites Jewish teens to strengthen, celebrate and commit to their Jewish identity and community.
Mom & Kids Challah Bake
On Sunday, Jan 13, Moms and children joined for a delightful evening of community, friendship, inspiration and fun at the Challah Bake at Bris Avrohom of Fair Lawn. Participants mixed, kneaded and shaped their own challah, enjoyed wine, music and refreshments, recited the special blessing for the challah, and learned about the spiritual meaning of this traditional bread.
